Dear friends,

As a new semester starts and we go through the ritualistic process of entering a new school year, SPARC is excited to announce a new social media campaign. Each weekday in August, we will share stories from Penn community members, including  Students, Staff, Faculty, Penn Religious Communities Council and other voices about the ways their spiritual rituals have been adapted while staying at home and as they connect to their spiritual communities remotely. This can also include intentionally making daily activities into spirit building rituals, like dog-walking, cooking, gardening, baking bread etc.

Our goal for this social media campaign is to help our broader Penn community think about the ways our daily activities and rituals in community can be adapted to be either virtual based (like participating in an online meditation or prayer group or attending a virtual religious service) or how our communal activities like yoga,  can be done at home. Also, we hope to highlight how everyday activities, like cooking, cleaning etc…can be rituals guided by mindful intentions. While we miss being in community in person, we hope to emphasize that there are ways to stay in touch and also focus on spiritual activities at home and virtually.

We also want to hear from you! What are you doing to stay grounded whether online or at home while observing social distancing? Share your stories with us.

Stay tuned for our first #VirtualRitual post tomorrow!
